The Welsh Corgi is a small, sturdy dog breed known for its short legs, long body, and expressive, fox-like face. There are two distinct breeds of Welsh Corgis: the Pembroke and the Cardigan. Both types have a double coat, with the outer coat being slightly harsh and of medium length. Pembrokes are often known for their shorter tails, while Cardigans have longer, bushy tails.

A distinguishing feature of the Welsh Corgi is its large, upright ears which give it an alert and intelligent expression. They typically have a strong, athletic build despite their small stature. The breed comes in a variety of colors, including red, sable, fawn, black and tan, with or without white markings. Their eyes are keen and friendly, reflecting their amiable and outgoing nature.

Welsh Corgis are known for being affectionate, loyal, and good with children, making them excellent family pets. They are also highly intelligent and trainable, often excelling in obedience, herding, and agility competitions. Despite their small size, they are active dogs and require regular exercise. Their herding instincts can sometimes manifest as a tendency to nip at people's heels, but this can usually be managed with proper training and socialization.
